Zo In-sung, Park Jeong-min starrer ‘HUMINT’ set for February 2026 release
‘HUMINT’, starring Park Jeong-min and Zo In-sung, has confirmed its Korean release date for February 11, 2026, and unveiled its launch teaser trailer. Positioned as a key contender for the Lunar New Year holiday box office in Korea, the film has attracted immediate attention following the teaser’s release.
Directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, a filmmaker renowned for his action-driven approach, ‘HUMINT’ is an international crime thriller set in Vladivostok, Russia. The story weaves together multiple perspectives, centering on National Intelligence Service black agent ‘Jo Gwajang’, North Korea’s Ministry of State Security chief ‘Park Geon’, North Korean consul general ‘Hwang Chi-seong’, who closely monitors Park’s activities, and ‘Chae Seon-hwa’, a North Korean restaurant worker who becomes entangled with Jo. Their intersecting motives form the backbone of a high-stakes narrative.
Zo In-sung leads as ‘Jo Gwajang’, a covert operative tracking the traces of an international criminal network, while Park Jeong-min stars as ‘Park Geon’, continuing his reputation for bold character transformations. Park Hae-joon portrays ‘Hwang Chi-seong’, with Shin Se-kyung appearing as ‘Chae Seon-hwa’, completing a strong ensemble cast.
The film marks Ryoo Seung-wan’s return to overseas location shooting following ‘The Berlin File’ and ‘Escape from Mogadishu’. Though set in Vladivostok, ‘HUMINT’ was filmed on location in Latvia, capturing the city’s distinctive atmosphere with a heightened sense of realism.
Ryoo’s signature blend of grounded, visceral action and polished genre craftsmanship is expected to be a central draw. ‘HUMINT’ is scheduled to open in Korean theaters on February 11, 2026, aligning with the Lunar New Year holiday period.
