First Trailer Drops for ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’

The official trailer for ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ has been released.

The new animated feature is based on the ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ series originally released on Nintendo Wii in 2007 and serves as a follow-up to ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ (2023). The film follows Mario and his brother Luigi as they leave their ordinary plumbing life in New York behind, embarking on a cosmic adventure through a variety of fantastical worlds to tackle even bigger missions.

The trailer spotlights the returning Mario brothers and villain Bowser, with comedic moments highlighting Bowser’s shrunken form expressing affection for Princess Peach and the brothers’ playful bickering.

New characters promise to expand the adventure, including Bowser Jr.—who declares, “I’m Bowser Jr.! I’ll bring Dad along”—and Rosalina, the cosmic guardian who plays a pivotal role in the original game, delivering dazzling action sequences that heighten audience anticipation.

The film reunites the creative team and cast from ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie'(2023). Animation powerhouse Illumination, known for ‘Minions’ and ‘Despicable Me’, and Nintendo are producing. Returning voice actors include ‘Chris Pratt’ as Mario, ‘Charlie Day’ as Luigi, ‘Anya Taylor-Joy’ as Peach, and ‘Jack Black’ as Bowser. Academy Award-winning ‘Brie Larson’ joins as Rosalina, adding star power and elevating the film’s appeal.

‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ is set to premiere in South Korea on April 29, 2026.
