First Trailer Drops for ‘Concrete Market’, Starring Hong Kyung and Lee Jae-in
The first trailer for ‘Concrete Market’, starring Hong Kyung and Lee Jae-in, has been unveiled.
The film shares its universe with ‘Concrete Utopia’ and is set in a post-earthquake Seoul, where a new survival order emerges amid the ruins. In the heart of a collapsed city, survivors flock to the last remaining apartment complex, where an unofficial trading hub known as ‘Hwanggung Market’ takes shape. More than a simple marketplace, it becomes a microcosm of a new society—one defined by survival, power struggles and competing desires.
As people with different pasts and motivations converge to barter for essentials, tensions escalate, and the pursuit of profit and survival sparks increasingly fierce conflict.
Originally developed as a seven-episode drama series, the project was re-edited into a theatrical feature following strong internal response to its narrative focus and thematic weight. With Lotte Cinema confirming an exclusive release, anticipation has only intensified. The film aims to condense the expansive worldbuilding and survival narrative of the series into a single feature while delivering even tighter storytelling and heightened visuals.
Lee Jae-in takes on the role of ‘Choi Hee-ro’, a mysterious newcomer whose sudden arrival at Hwanggung Market upends the existing order. Hong Kyung stars as ‘Kim Tae-jin’, the loyal right-hand man to the market’s de facto ruler, willing to do whatever it takes to maintain control.
Produced by Climax Studio—known for Concrete Utopia, D.P. and Hellbound—’Concrete Market’ opens exclusively at Lotte Cinema on December 3.
