The first teaser for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, returning 20 years after the original, has been released.
The sequel follows Miranda Priestly as she navigates the struggling print magazine industry, desperate for advertising revenue. Emily, formerly Miranda’s assistant, has risen to become a senior executive at a luxury brand group, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash over ad budgets.
The teaser confirms the return of Meryl Streep as ‘Miranda’, Anne Hathaway as ‘Andy’, and Emily Blunt as ‘Emily’, generating major buzz over the reunion of the original cast.
David Frankel, who directed the first film, returns to helm the sequel, with Elinor Brosh McKenna penning the script and Karen Rosenfelt producing, bringing back the core creative team behind the original.
New additions to the cast include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet, raising anticipation over how they’ll interact with the returning stars.
The original ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ chronicled Andy’s journey from aspiring journalist to assistant at the top fashion magazine ‘Runway’, battling to survive under the notoriously demanding Miranda Priestly. The 2006 release grossed over $326 million worldwide—nearly ten times its production budget—earning Meryl Streep a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy and cementing Anne Hathaway as a rising star in Hollywood.
