HBO’s breakout series ‘Euphoria’ is officially returning with Season 3, marking its long-awaited comeback roughly four years after the Season 2 finale. The new season is set to premiere next April in the U.S.

Led by creator Sam Levinson, the teen-focused series is bringing back an expanded ensemble that combines returning stars with a wave of new talent. Most of the core cast—now fully established A-listers—are set to reprise their roles, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Colman Domingo. Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly and Dominic Fike are also returning for Season 3.

During an HBO Max presentation in London, Levinson outlined the season’s updated timeline and character arcs, noting that “a five-year jump felt natural, considering they’d have graduated college by now.”

Season 3 opens with Rue (Zendaya) searching for increasingly desperate ways to settle her debt to Laurie (Martha Kelly) south of the Mexican border. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) is now living in the suburbs, engaged to Nate (Jacob Elordi), spiraling into social-media obsession and consumed by envy over the glamorous lives of her former classmates.

Levinson added that he believes this will be the strongest season to date, teasing that Cassie and Nate “do get married—and the wedding will be an unforgettable sequence.”

Jules (Hunter Schafer) is enrolled in art school, navigating the divide between creative ambition and a pattern of avoidance. Maddy (Alexa Demie) is working under a Hollywood manager while juggling multiple side projects. Lexi (Maude Apatow) returns as an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who leads a slate of new additions that also includes Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne and Eli Roth.

‘Euphoria,’ known for its raw depiction of teen life shaped by addiction, sexuality and crime, remains HBO’s highest-rated non-fantasy series—surpassing titles like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Last of Us’ in that category—and continues to stand as a global cultural phenomenon.
